Pacquiao vs. Barrios: Manny Pacquiao Eyes Historic Comeback July 19

Pacquiao Returns to the Ring in Historic Bout vs. Barrios

Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao is making a comeback. The boxing icon returns to action on Saturday, July 19, facing WBC Welterweight World Champion Mario “El Azteca” Barrios in the main event of a stacked PBC Pay-Per-View card live from Las Vegas on Prime Video.

Pacquiao, fresh off his Hall of Fame induction, is chasing history once again. If he wins, he will become the oldest welterweight champion ever—surpassing the record he set in 2019 when he defeated Keith Thurman at age 40.

Media Workout Shows Pacquiao’s Fire Is Back

At a recent media workout in Los Angeles, Pacquiao displayed the speed, strength, and intensity that made him an eight-division champion. Training alongside legendary coach Freddie Roach, Pacquiao spoke openly about his hunger and mindset.

“Boxing is my passion,” said Pacquiao. “The fire is back. I feel like I’m 25 again.” He added that this comeback is personal. “I want to win and retire as a champion. I’m not thinking about anything else. This fight is about making history.”

A Loaded Night of Boxing in Las Vegas

The July 19 card is one of the year’s most stacked events. In the co-main event, Sebastian Fundora and Tim Tszyu clash in a highly anticipated rematch after their brutal war in 2024. Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz will meet fellow Mexican slugger Angel Fierro in a can’t-miss 12-round rematch. The night kicks off with Brandon Figueroa vs. Joet Gonzalez, a featherweight showdown with Fight of the Year potential.

All fights begin at 8 PM ET / 5 PM PT and can be purchased on Prime Video, through traditional cable providers, or via PPV.com. Tickets for the event are available now at AXS.com.

Pacquiao Aims to Inspire, Not Just Win

Pacquiao’s comeback isn’t just about legacy—it’s also about proving that passion, discipline, and belief can push the limits of age. “This is more than a fight,” he said. “It’s a message to anyone who thinks their time has passed.”

He also hinted that this might not be the end. “I think I have two or three more fights left,” he said. “But I’m focused on July 19. One step at a time.”
